| Ken's
Korner by
Pres. Ken Dell
I hope everyone had a enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend and was
able to spend time with their family and loved ones. This
is the beginning of a special time of year for many reasons,
and I hope we are able to remember those not only in our families
but also those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
We
are now in the busiest time of the year for both our personal
and club lives. Our largest fund raisers occur during this
time. The monies raised enable us to be a force in our community
and to so many individuals in that community. We need your
time and talents commitment to pull these off successfully.
Please sign up for at least eight to twelve hours a week at
the gift wrap and most importantly SHOW UP for those hours.
If you can’t physically make your scheduled time, please
arrange for your own substitute and the be sure to call Dave
Maloney with the name-change as soon as possible so he can
update the online
giftwrap schedule. Also remember the Fruit Sales
and and the upcoming Mount Basketball project.
A
subject we all have been avoiding is that the demographics
of our club are changing. People, we need your help to keep
this club a vibrant, positive, moving force that it has been
in the past. Please really think about whom you could ask
or bring to a meeting to show what Kiwanis is all about and
please don’t make the decision of whether they would
like it or not for them; let them decide for themselves. How
about a son/daughter, son/daughter-in-law, church member,
nephew/neice, cousin, neighbor? And also remember that “the
times they are a-changing” and we must too if we are
to remain in touch with our community and keep our club alive.
In
closing all I can say is WRAP, WRAP, WRAP! Enjoy the day. |

Sheets Flew South for the Winter by
Paul Sheets
Hi
Everyone,
Well, it is time for the Sheets to travel to the land of warm
weather and sunshine again. We have left Maryland early tomorrow
morning and are now in Fl for the winter. We plan to return
to Frederick the first part of May, if all goes well. As some
of you do not know, we purchased a condo in Venice, Fl (just
South of Sarasota) earlier this year. As soon as we get the
computer set up, I will email the address. Meanwhile, our
address will be: 408 Laurel Lake Dr, # 202, Venice, FL. 34292
Phone # 941.496.7504
Our best regards,
Paul and Marie |
