Pres. Bill Muffi
Here's our past month at a glance
• Ed Crawford's out of the Hospital and back home!
• Planning meeting with three Teams: Fundraising, Community Service, Membership Drive
• Held successful "Bring A Friend Night"
• Inducted new member Bob Rankin
• Program speaker Peter Brehm of "Friends of Baker Park" shared the history of Baker Park
• Lt. Gov. Fred Lohnes paid our club a visit
The year is starting out just great. All three Teams are off to the races. Money is coming in, Visitors visiting, and Community Service gearing up. Much work to do, of course. I have also put our Special Projects man, Jim Wiggins, to work on his next assignment. Hats off to Jim Wiggins. I would also like to thank Eric for going the extra mile for the Bring a Friend night. It was a great program and everyone enjoyed it. It's that can-do attitude that makes great leaders. Especially when backed up by results. Hats off to Eric Gatrell. The next important date is February 23rd, our next planning meeting. Now let’s get back to work!
Hey, check out the web site! Dave put a "Won't you consider joining our club? Listen..." link at the top of the page. Go there and click on the link to hear our radio announcement arranged for by Frank Parker!

New Member, Bob Rankin, Inducted

Past member, Bob Rankin, recently re-joined our club! It's great having Bob, a retired banker now living in New Market with his wife, Jamie, back with us! Picturd above welcoming Bob back are (L to R) Frank Parker (membership committee chair), Div. 9 Lt. Gov. Fred Lohnes, Bob Rankin, Brenda Edwards (sponsor), and club Pres. Bill Muffi. |
History of Baker Park
What a fantastic program we recently had for "Bring a Friend Night"! Program chairman Eric Gatrell arranged to have Peter Peter Brehm, President of "Friends of Baker Park" share the history of Frederick's Baker Park with club members and the numerous visitors.

"Baker Park is a 35 acre linear park running through the heart of downtown Frederick. Founded 75 years ago through the generosity of one of Frederick's leading citizens, it is one of the city's greatest assets with playgrounds, walking paths, ball parks, a concert pavilion, lake and gardens. The Friends of Baker Park, Inc. know that Baker Park requires constant care and attention and believe the park can be an even greater asset to our City and lifestyle. Members of Friends of Baker Park, Inc. are dedicated to the park and its future. The park was founded through a citizen's care and generosity, and we believe it can be further enhanced by the care and attention of today's citizens."
Pictured below (L to R) are program chairman Eric Gatrell, visitor Cheryl Mulligan and program speaker Peter Brehn sharing a recent edition of the Friends of Baker Park Newsletter.
