Ken's Korner by Pres. Ken Dell

Summer is almost here and you know that brings vacations, cook-outs and just general good feelings. We all want to enjoy it to the fullest but let us not forget the Kiwanis. Attendance has been low. Last week our middle school club came for a visit and they outnumbered us! We need your presence at the meetings so we can conduct business and show the community that we are alive and well. It is of concern to have a speaker come in and there only be eight of us. Our organization is close to being in trouble and we need YOU in many ways. Bring a friend to a meeting, volunteer to work a project. Show up for the meetings.

Christine will be running the meeting and board meeting on June 1 as I’ll be in Texas on business, returning Fri. night. Please support her. I’m making this brief so I can get out of town. You know what has to be done so go out and do it!

Middletown Builders Club Makes Visit
An excited and hungry group of Middletown Builders Club members recently paid a visit to the Suburban Frederick Club, its sponsoring organization. Club Advisor Linda Caron introduced the students. Club. Pres. Benoit Viau briefed our club on the Builders Club's very busy and productive schedule, including their comfort-quilt program for soldiers serving in Iraq. Mrs. Caron and Benoit presented each member with their pin. Hotel staff had to bring out extra desserts <g>.
