A second
chance
Operation Second Chance, founded in 2004 by
Cindy McGrew, left, has as its mission aiding the recovery and rehabilitation of
wounded service men and women, modifying housing to accommodate disabled
veterans, assisting wounded veterans’ families and helping with the transition
of wounded service men and women back into civilian society. McGrew, accompanied
by Spc. James Kiklis, who himself was wounded in Iraq, recently spoke to the
Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick about the challenges young service personnel
who have been wounded are facing. McGrew received a standing ovation in
recognition of her selfless commitment to our wounded vets. At right is club
member and veteran, Glenn Magaha.
