War time
experiences
Charlie Mertz, U.S. Navy veteran and a member
of the Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick, recently shared his war time
experiences aboard the USS Gustafson, (DE 182) both in the Pacific as well as in
the Atlantic, where his ship is credited with sinking three German submarines.
